Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance run every day a backup export of RMAN catalog database, ZDLRA`s database.
These backups exported are stored on /raacfs/raadmin ACFS directory that belong the disk group DELTA. shared by all of dbnodes of appliance. As the database increases and the backups as well, you will have to increase this ACFS too.
Let’s see how to increase this ACFS directory.
Keep in mind if you increase the ACFS, you are getting space from database DELTA disk group and allocating in ACFS directory. Before do this, check if you have free space on celldisks on cellstorages.
To check it, execute the command below on cellnode with root user:
[root@zdl01celadm01 ~]$ cellcli -e list celldisk attributes name,freespace
CD_00_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_01_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_02_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_03_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_04_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_05_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_06_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_07_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_08_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_09_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_10_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
CD_11_zdl01celadm01 742.953125G
FD_00_zdl01celadm01 0
FD_01_zdl01celadm01 0
In my case, I have almost 750GB of free space, so, if my DELTA disk group stay out of space, I can add more with this free space.
Now, lets check how much space ACFS directory have.
Connected on dbnode, execute the command below:
[oracle@zdl01dbadm01 ~]$ /sbin/acfsutil info fs /raacfs/raadmin
/raacfs/raadmin
ACFS Version: 19.0.0.0.0
on-disk version: 49.0
compatible.advm: 19.0.0.0.0
ACFS compatibility: 19.0.0.0.0
flags: MountPoint,Available,KiloSnap
creation time: Sun May 14 19:10:41 2023

mount sequence number: 3
number of nodes: 2
allocation unit: 4096

Here we can see that ACFS has 700GB of space and only 141GB of free space.
Lets add more 50GB to this ACFS directory:
[oracle@zdl01dbadm01 ~]$ acfsutil size +50G /raacfs/raadmin
acfsutil size: new file system size: 805306368000 (768000MB)
Here I used +50GB to add more 50GB, but you can use for example 750GB in place of +50GB, a value without plus signal to say for acfsutil the absolute space you want.
So, ok. Lets check our new increased ACFS directory:
[oracle@zdl01dbadm01 ~]$ /sbin/acfsutil info fs /raacfs/raadmin
/raacfs/raadmin
ACFS Version: 19.0.0.0.0
on-disk version: 49.0
compatible.advm: 19.0.0.0.0
ACFS compatibility: 19.0.0.0.0
flags: MountPoint,Available,KiloSnap
creation time: Sun May 14 19:10:41 2023
mount time: Wed Apr 9 09:27:03 2025
mount sequence number: 3
number of nodes: 2
allocation unit: 4096
metadata block size: 4096
volumes: 1
total size: 805306368000 ( 750.00 GB )
total free: 205817434112 ( 191.68 GB )
file entry table allocation: 17170432
primary volume: /dev/asm/raadmin-309
label:

major, minor: 250, 158209
logical sector size: 512

free: 205817434112 ( 191.68 GB )
metadata read I/O count: 2768656
metadata write I/O count: 995520
total metadata bytes read: 13229617152 ( 12.32 GB )
total metadata bytes written: 6043865088 ( 5.63 GB )
ADVM diskgroup: DELTA
ADVM resize increment: 67108864

ADVM stripe columns: 8
ADVM stripe width: 1048576

compression status: DISABLED
Now you can see that my ACFS directory has 750GB of space and 191GB of free space.
Oracle usually put many files on this directory like patches and reports. First check if you can clean it before adding more space on that and allocate unnecessary space of your storage.
